Kirchner Family

The Kirchner family has been running the Tauernhof since the start. For over 25 years the Kirchners have been working with Young Austria as their exclusive adventure program and booking partner and are part of the third generation of this family to provide adventures that are sure to keep guests coming back for more.

The Tauernhof is the perfect place for up-close and natural mountain adventures both in the summer and in the winter. The house is in a quiet and safe location with a breathtaking panorama view of the mountains, directly at the base of the winter sport area of Obertauern. Obertauern always has good snow and for skiers and snowboarders it’s a great central location. Right behind the house is a cross-country ski path and the entrance to the “Kehrkropfbahn” lift in the Tauernrunde is only a few minutes away by foot. At the valley station you can find comfortable chair lifts as well as a newly built long play park created by X-Games Boardercrosser Cri Mayerhofer.  

In the summer the house guarantees a great natural experience. All around it are beautiful fields and mountain landscapes that are of picture-postcard quality and that make the hearts of outdoor lovers beat faster. And the house’s private pool provides a great place to cool down on hot days.  

A big theater next to the slope: brothers Sepp and Herbert Kirchner are true masters of projection. For entertainment after dinner they have constructed their own movie theater with original theater seats. Lights, camera, action and fun in Tauernhof.
